Ive been using a Chow made mainly from Alfalfa, Wheat Bran and Oat Bran. I add to that some potato, soy, hemp seed, flax seed. dried fruits and kelp.
They love it and are breeding and growing well. (As far as I can tell. Im not an expert)
I dont use Cat Food to feed my roaches.
Why? Because its for Cats.
There are just too many extra ingredients in it that are specially made for cats (Hairball formula, Weight Formula, Urinary Tract Formula, etc)
Why would I want to feed my insects that?
I dont feed my roaches anything that was made specifically for some other type of animal.
You could probably get at least 2000 in there. Maybe a bit more
Dubia like to be crowded together though.
Using 12"x12" Paper Egg Trays stacked vertically gives them more surface space
Leave some room to add food and water crystal trays
11 gal is a bit of a small bin IMO.
Greetings fellow Roach Breeders.
Its great to find a site dedicated to Roaches
Dubia breeder from Las Vegas Nevada
Been raising them for about a year and a half now.
I have started a small business selling them as Feeders to local Herp owners
