  1. that's pretty sad. i can't imagine seeing someone being eaten by an infestation of roaches.
  2. i have never seen those before, definitely very cool looking.
  3. Alright! That's it! I'm definitely getting some of those!
  4. well, i don't care for either team, but i was hoping the Steelers would win. my team is sitting at home, watching their stadium host the game! D'OH!
  5. dude, those are awesome videos! keeping wasps have NEVER been an interest of mine. I'm a big baby when it comes to them I guess. I don't mind keeping and handling large retics, but a little teeny wasp will definitely get my attention. I don't want to get stung. I'm not sure I could ever hand feed or handle one like you do, but you have got me thinking of keeping some. I have a bunch of kritter keepers laying around......
  6. awesome thread and pics. really helps a new guy like me to differentiate them better. i think i see some distanti in my future......!
  7. nice. i think the commentary was almost as good as the vid...
  8. thanks! scorpions are my favorite inverts. they are just so menacing and pissed off looking all the time! i like mean little critters...
  9. yuck! i can't stand the taste of mushrooms....
  10. i'm sure there is a trick to it, but i don't know it...
  11. they don't seem to be any worse than the others i have. although the name "androctonus" means "man killer" !
  12. I figured you invert guys would appreciate these. These are some of my favorite scorpions... one of my two Androctonus mauretanicus one of my two Hottentotta judaicus one of my Hottentotta trilineatus
  13. That was about 2 years ago, my lat colony has extinguished now. i need to start some back up for my smaller tarantulas and scorps. that's the only bad thing about dubias, they HIDE! when i feed them to my tarantulas i mostly have to use my hemostats and hold the roach for them until they grab it. with the lateralis, i didn't have this problem. oh, and on a side note....it is NOT easy putting 1000 lateralis in a cardboard box!!
  14. two males and two females the number before the "." are males, the number after the "." are females
  15. i saw it. i like roaches and keeping them, however i definitely couldn't handle them being all over my house. i'm not sure about the species they were using, HOWEVER, there was one about scorpions and they were DEFINITELY using Desert Hairy (Hadrurus arizonensis) and calling them bark scorpions (Centruroides sculpturatus). It really bothered me, but I guess it's expected, the desert hairy's are way bigger and more menacing looking that the little bark scorpions.
  16. i probably should have, she was my first retic and she was gorgeous. oh well....
  17. my favorites are the dubia, they are really cool looking and good and meaty. the fastest producing are definitely the lats. i don't remember how many i started with but 4 months after i got them, i sent a shipment of 1000 EXTRAS to some guy in CA!
  18. yeah, bloods are really fun to have. i definitely plan on breeding them and hoping to prove that female out to be a het. if she doesn't prove out i'll get an albino female to go with the male.
  19. yeah, it's go big or go home with me! retics are by far my favorite. i got rid of my larger ones two years ago and actually sold all of my snakes except a 14 year old female ball (my first snake). that lasted about 3 months, then i got a pair of platty poss het retics, that suntiger poss het and a jamp het female, a proven male lavendar albino and a 10' female lavendar. i just couldn't stay away! i miss my bigger ones, but the ones i have are growing quick and will get there soon. pic of one of my female tigers that i sold...
  20. they are late 09's and only about 2-2.5 feet long. i love how the bloods are short and fat!
  21. Thanks! Trust me, if money allowed it, I would have MANY more!!!!!
  22. Yes they do! Tortoises are by far my favorite animals. I also keep a small herd (1.3) of Russian tortoises and I have a baby redfoot coming as soon as the temps warm up.
  23. yeah i have a mount that i bought and the abdomen is all shriveled. stuffing it works really well.
