  1. Thank you guys, I got some E. Javanica and love them. I got to watch one molt into an adult, and last night it was a swarm on the orange slice.
  2. I think if I was getting a 500$ gecko I woul go pick it up, I couldn't handle that stress.
  3. I can only imagine. I am hoping to use these as feeders but they going have to mature quicker than this. I thought they were around 3 months as nymphs and a year as adult.
  4. ......like watching paint dry. I have had my pantanal since nov 4 th and several appear to the size of adults so figured at least one would have mounted by now.
  5. Good idea, my wife is picking up some vasoline now. I have them in a plastic container now. I am putting them in a 20 gallon high but I am getting a lid for Christmas, and clearly I now need a roll of window screen. Wow javanica nymphs are tiny.
  6. Well they all made it. 27 of them. I was not prepared for how tiny the nymphs are. My temporary kritter keeper will not do. And the only petroleum jelly I have has fragrance.
  7. So in preparation for these guys hopefully tomorrow, what tips for acclimation? I am sure after 5 days in a box they will be stressed. So I place them immediately in the upper 80's or allow them th reach room temp, then slowly increase? Mist them or let them find water? Wait on fresh fruits and veggies for a few days?
  8. Those are nice. The first ones pronotum marking look similar to a pantanal.
  9. I tried to order from roach crossing but I could not get his address to send him the payment. Guess he has too much email traffic I missed my address requests. Needless to say I should have just been more patient.
  10. I wonder how many days it takes hissers to chew out of a shipping box..... Shipped out wed apparently won't be here til Monday.
  11. my first experiance with eBay, from David Grimm was 110% positive. The jury is still out on this seller. They are 1 hour and a half away, so hopefully will be in tomorrow.
  12. Well, they should have been shipped out earlier in the week. Plus this place is in Ohio and they shipped out from mass. So unless he has a deal with cape cod roaches it means he was out and had to order them to keep his eBay in good standing. As long as I get my roaches I won't care, but I doubt I will do anymore business with them.
  13. Is there anything more nerve racking than having roaches in the mail? Oh yes, the individual shipping them out on Dec 16th that is more nerve racking.
  14. I collected them in a pet store betta cup, and by the time they warmed up from the cold they promptly walked right up the sides.
  15. I have a small population that lives in my pigeon loft under a osb board along side a few Pennsylvania wood roach nymphs. Nothing there but feathers, dander, and deteriorating wood. Doesn't sound very nutritious but I guess it's all they need.
  16. Yes a very old topic but any reason why my pantanal will not come out until the red heat bulb is turned ou?
  17. Man that is the scariest looking fly. Dang!
  18. According to Kyle, a fly. Although they look more like blister beetles to me.
  19. Very cool additions. Do any of the leaf mimics freeze when bothered, perhaps perpetuating the mimicry? Sleepy Lemur, not to derail my own topic into another forum list, but I think the opposite. Mimicry falls in the line of intelligent design. However that is a topic for another forum. Lol
