Ralph
Some identifications: First post, fourth photo from last is Aptera fusca. "Trilobite cockroach" I'd say is Blaptica dubia. Funny how it's harder to recognize when it's in the wild. The little black and orange one at the top of the second page is a Pseudomops, I think. Brown mottled one on the dead leaf afterward is an Epilampra species. The girl with the ooth two posts above me is adult Ellipsidion australe. PlantMan
All of those are absolutely GORGEUS!! So many people think all cockroaches are bland, disgusting things, but these beauties are the very reason I love them! Thank you so much for sharing. pierre72
Lots of these ARE some of the most beautiful roaches I've seen. I've heard of a cobalt blue species and the article must of meant the Canopy Cockroach. Briene is right the pill roach is lovely also. I also saw a big red with tiny white dots (forgot the species name). That one's out of this world!! Good photography.
pierre72
The last one I described above was Colorful Roach (balta sp) on page 1. And self-correction it's more like white-line throughout the red background in it's wings. The two gold ones are pretty cool also.
