Matttoadman Posted December 27, 2015 Share Posted December 27, 2015 I discovered harvestman hatchlings in my pantanal tank yesterday. Will these be a help or hindrance? At first I thought they might be good to prey on the small problematic pests(phorids and fungus gnats) but they would probably feed on the good cleaners as well. Hisserdude Posted December 27, 2015 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Interesting, it's pretty hard to get these guys to breed in captivity, yet it looks like you did it without even knowing! What cleaners are you using in that tank? These guys mostly scavenge dead insects or other animal material, for example dog food. They shouldn't be too much of a problem I would think. They may eat a small amount of springtails and small isopods, but again, I think they won't be much of a problem. Honestly I am a bit jealous!
