Matttoadman
I had a E. javanica that molted into an adult the night I received them in the male. The next few days it's back leg on one side was stuck to the plastic and even if I helped remove it it would just get stuck again. She did die. Any ideas what was the problem? Salmonsaladsandwich
She just molted? Maybe her leg was bleeding from being chewed by another roach, and the hemolymph stuck as it dried or 'scabbed'? But that doesn't explain why she died, since they live just fine with missing legs. Hmmm. I bet it's an anomaly and nothing to worry about though.
Hisserdude
Hmm, weird. Is that particular area of plastic sticky? Was there a price of tape or a sticker there previously? If not, I have no idea why she would act that way, hope it does not happen to any others.
Matttoadman
Yeah it was wierd. I was hoping it was just a fluke. The rest seem fine now that they are in their permanent home. I just hated losing a female.
Hisserdude
Yeah, that always sucks. Good that the rest seem fine, hope they breed for you!
Tenevanica
I just hated losing a female. This doesn't have to do with your problem, but I was the exact opposite when I received E. javanica. I had five individuals, and they all matured into females!
