They don't really mind about the type of tree as I've seen them in oak, pine, and ash tree. They seem to prefer dry places by the way as I've found tons of them under dry barks of huge ash trees. My first adult male emerged awhile back, and he was fine yesterday, but today he is deceased. I have not seen any ootheca yet. Should I move them to a larger enclosure: *30 gallon aquarium *Lid is NOT tight *Plants sometimes touch the lid (escape would be a possibility) *MANY good hiding places - hollow Aquarium "log", leaves, ceramic pots, branches, bark *Mostly moist substrate *Cohabitating with: ******B. giganteous ******rhino beetle grubs ******other beetle grubs ******a couple of G. caffrorum that I am trying to capture and remove ******Springtails - Willosia sp.
