Latiblattella rehni "gray"

Recommended Posts

They remind me of these sweets I used to buy as a kid, they were called butter mints or something similar, they had that caramel candy colour like these guys, though the mints probably tasted better.

That's my way of saying "cool roach, well done"!

All the best from Bill. :D

Really cool! They almost blend in with that grey bark!

Thank you :) They seem to have some cryptic coloration

Wow...looks like the hot weather is trigger my ooths to hatch!

These, Latiblatte rehni, and both species of Balta are all hatching in large numbers! I'm piled by nymphs now. LOL

On a side note, I no longer believe these are Latiblattella, but possibly a new species of Euthlastoblatta because the ooth of this species resembles E. gemma and E. diaphana ooths I had, and newly hatched nymphs are ant mimics just like 1st instar E. diaphana I had.

That's great news, glad to hear they are all doing well for you! Especially the Balta! :D

Interesting, that would be cool! Whatever they area, I hope they continue to do well for you!

Unfortunately my whole colony got wiped out while I was away for AZ trip :(

Hoping I'll be able to collect more specimens this winter if I have time.

Sorry to hear that man, hope you can collect more at some point.

Went to the place where I found these, but could not find any. I guess they are either 1st instar or haven't hatched yet around this time of the year :(

That sucks man, hope you can find more next year.

My family decided to visit Destin this week for family vacation so I tagged along. This time I got super lucky because I ended up with 9 Euthlastoblatta sp. nymphs! Hopefully I'll be able to breed this species again :)

Congrats on getting this species again, hope they do better this time around, would be great to get this species established in culture, especially if it's undescribed!

Thanks man :)  Hopefully they'll do well for me like last time (until I went to AZ trip. They starved to death :( )
