I just wanted to make a quick introduction post to say hi to everyone. :) I currently only keep 2 E. javanica (who I'm having to sell, our new place isn't fond of the idea of pet roaches), but in the past I've kept B. dubia as feeders and Madagascar Hissers as pets. I also currently keep tarantulas, mantids, and a corn snake. I'm interested in several different roach species in the future, but with where we're living right now that isn't really an option.

Welcome to the forum! :)

Sorry to hear about your predicament, is there no way to hide them were your landlord can't find them? If not that sucks, hopefully your next place will be more accepting of roaches, though you could always just call them beetles, no one would know the difference. ;)

Welcome to the Forum!!! :)

Hope you can eventually end up keeping some roaches, it would really suck to not be able to keep these amazing insects. :(

It's funny that you say that because my mom actually found a Blatta orientalis in our basement and she called me and said she found a big beetle! :D I wasn't even really into roaches back then but as soon as I saw it I said" That's a roach, not a big beetle!" :D I just couldn't believe that she thought it was a big beetle, when B.orientalis has such a classic roach look and isn't even one of the odd-looking species! Thinking back it was most likely an adult female.

Lol, seems like you could even fool some people into thinking the more "roachy" looking roaches are really beetles, so you should have no problem convincing people that your wingless, hard-shelled E.javanica are beetles, if they ask that is. :)

Thank you both for the welcome! I've considered hiding them, but we're honestly pretty low on extra space as well, so for now I'm looking for a new home for them. If they don't sale it's no big deal, I don't mind keeping them. :)

Just put them under your bed, no one will ever know! :D;)
