  1. Well, It's been a while! I now have over 30 E. Javanica...But my hissers still won't breed :(

  2. Thanks for your input! Makoygaara- I've had my hissers for 9 months now. I have found several aborted ootheca over the last few months, and I'm hoping that the changes I've made with their enclosure keep them on the right track here Ya'll will be the first to know when I finally have some babies!
  3. I was watching a female extend her ootheca the other night and got to wondering... Do they rotate the ootheca at a certain time during gestation? Is there any way to tell how long after this event she will give birth?
  4. Thanks for the friend add. :)

  5. Received 12 E. Javanica nymphs today! So adorable!

  6. Sweet! I've been thinking about getting all sorts of insects crawling up and around my leg My G. Portentosa would have to be the first
  7. It does seem to be and addiction I just received a dozen E. Javanica nymphs today...and I'm already considering what to add next!
  8. Beautiful pics! Thank you!
  9. I've had my G. Potentosa for almost 8 months, and I have no nymphs yet I've been keeping a closer watch on humidity and giving them more of a variety of foods and it seems like every female is gravid...but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I wonder if adding a few of the E. Javanica nymphs I just got to their enclosure would encourage the females a bit...
  10. Thank you everyone! It's so nice to have people to discuss these things with... who aren't creeped out
  11. HI there! I'm Megan. I currently have 10 Gromphadorhina portentosa. I got my first Hisser when I was about five (lucky for me my family has always been supportive of my love of insects). They have always been pets for me, but I'm thinking about raising the temperatures and moving a few out of my display cage to start breeding. I happened across this forum when I was looking for information on keeping Elliptorhina Javanica and G. Portentosa together. Any ideas on this? Thanks for your help!
