Full Version: Oothecae: E. opaca and Blattidae sp. "Sri Lanka"

Hi!

Well, I have 6-8 oothecae from E. opaca and 30 ootheca from Blattidae sp. "Sri Lanka" and I want to know more or less, when will they hatch. Thanks!

I don't know how many other people have those species here but oothecae of their relatives take around three months to hatch.

Well, yesterday one of the Blattidae sp. "Sri Lanka" ootheca hatched and now I have 10 new little roaches laugh.gif .

The female left the ootheca in the lasts days of September, and it hatched in the lasts days of November, so, 2 months.

Hi!

I found these little guys yesterday:

B. craniifer "Black Wings":



Blattidae sp. "Sri Lanka", the first one was born yesterday and the last one was born on December:





These ones hatched after 5 months:



It´s an Eurycotis opaca, I have few of them.

Comparation between oothecae, the first one is Blattidae sp. "Sri Lanka" and the second one is E. opaca:






Now, I´m improving my enclosures for giving them the best.

Ootheca size difference is amazing. That larger one must be huge.....

Some of the eggcases took five months to hatch? What' the size of the adult Sri Lankan species?
