  1. I will be getting 5 new roach species in to the US hobby in a month or less from the UK. They will all be adults, so establishing a culture hopefully will take less time but it will be some time before they are distributed in the hobby. I will also be getting 3 species of exotic roaches that are not to common in the hobby, one of which is the rhino roach which I already have for sale. i will let you guys drool over these 5 new species and 3 other rare species I will be getting I will update this thread tomorrow with scientific names and a description of each roach, i will post pics when I get these species in the US. please feel free to make assumptions of what species i may be importing, if you guess correctly I will give you a free starter culture of that species in particular (the genus and name must be correct, spelling doesn't matter this does not apply to the 3 species that are already in the hobby just the 5 new species.) I will just say that one of the species is absolutely stunning, once I get them I will be the second person in the world to have them! post away!
  2. A display of these guys would look awesome, I would recommend using oak leaf litter in with the coir, it’s beneficial to many species of roaches. Gyna don’t seam to fly much during the day. They just like to run around (there are very fast) only adults can climb. Don’t open the cage after dusk as it would be a nightmare If you had many adults. I don’t think they will be able to squeeze past the doors. I think it would also look cool to put a pothos plant in the cage. It would just require a small light. And I beleave Gyna don’t mind the light to much.

    aquarium plants?

Fake reptile plants would work and look better. Aquarium plants are meant to be underwater so generally the water keeps them upright. When they are out of water they tend to fall over. Unless you get something solid

Dumor chick feed - roach chow

I’d bet that it is still safe. Although I always say that homemade roach chow is the best especially for feeding reptiles

    Colleting leaf litter

I think you should be fine. Especially if you see lots of life in the leaf litter (if it’s not to cold yet) Ive collected leaf litter in a rich area where I’m sure they all use chemicals. And nothing has happened to any of my inverts. If your really concerned you could wash the leaves and then bake them.

    Eurycotis lixa (Hustler roach)

I look forward to it I’ve heard they like to nible? But I’d like another black species besides my black tigers. I think they would make a nice display colony, do nymphs climb?

    Lanxoblatta rudis (Rough Bark Roach)

@wizentrop I forgot you sexed them, for some reason I thought they were unsexed, thanks again
  10. Very nice. I use that common name as well. that’s the common name I’m going to sell under whether anyone likes it or not

    Lanxoblatta rudis (Rough Bark Roach)

What no fair you got pairs! I got 4 nymphs from him but I’m still very happy about it.
  12. I have a 40 gallon tank that I’m going to split with a plexiglass divider, and put AGB,s in one side and Giant blue Philippine millipedes on the other side, when I get a larger set up for my buisness I’m going to get a few 40 gallon tanks and split them 2 or 3 times with dividers to hold my millipedes, expensive I know. But it would be awesome

    Escape Proof Enclosures

I don’t use anything for mine, I just feed them quickly and catch any escapes. I may use Teflon tape in the future you just stick it to the side of the cage, there is a product called bug off I beleave that bioquip sells that goes on wet and drys powdery I may use that to.

    Escape Proof Enclosures

There’s no need to modify enclosures, many people keep those species in standard cages, just use vaseline or Teflon tape to contain them, I don’t use any roach barrier because I don’t like the hassle

Questions About Micro Feeders for Micro Geckos

They sell a reptile dish that vibrates for $20 to make food move, it’s mostly used for dry food. But it could work for Dubia

    Escape Proof Enclosures

LLL Reptile has lots of different cages avalable, I use gasket containers for hissers, I get them from target

    G. Portentosa might be dying? (details + pics)

Care sounds good in my opinion, heat rocks are known to malfunction and can have hot spots, it could be possible for a roach to cook it self and slowly die. They are shunned in the Reptile hobby

    Small bins Vs. big bins?

I agree with @Hisserdude sometimes I even keep them in a 16oz deli if I only have a few nymphs and then move them up until they get in there final enclosure. I mainly use a 15 qt tub from menards it has purple handles (which I spray paint black) I house most of my collection in them I can fit 32 on one shelving unit. It also comes in a larger size which I use some. I get my deli cups from TSK Supply (also a good idea to get heat packs from) I use the largest ones they have there that are 190oz for smaller species. If your not planning on selling or feeding them off I’d say use a larger container bacauce they may get to crowded in a smaller one. My goal is to just keep a colony large enough to sell from while keeping the container as small as I can to save on space.

Is there any Facebook classifieds that anyone likes? I’m just on the millipede and centipede classifieds, granted I just got on Facebook and I’m still trying to figure out how to find classifieds lol. Maybe this can help other members looking for classifieds on Facebook.

    What am I doing wrong?

Ya, like a moist roach species I even sprinkle some roach chow on the moist soil for them to eat but and if it molds they eat that to, bug only do that with small amounts.

Questions About Micro Feeders for Micro Geckos

The rothi should be fine with the Kenyans, big and small species go well together, I’ll never keep lesser meal worms because you can’t control which containers they go in to can migrate to all your other roach colonies and they may compete with small species. PM me is you ever want any Kenyans that’s the smallest feeders I have, 1st Instar Dubia would probably work good as well if you have them

    [EXTREMELY Pic Heavy] Eurydactylodes Vivarium
