Archimandrita tesselata

That's one awesome setup; I just love the natural look. It really reminds me of a forest floor. I have a question though; how extensively do they burrow? You have a lot of substrate there, do they utilize it all, or is it for other purposes, like plant roots or drainage?

god dam it now youre making me whan to set up a naturalistic tank, did you use layering for the substrate, drainage layer separated from the substrate with landscaping cloth or window screen?

No, nothing like that at all, I just mixed peat, rotten wood and beech leaves, heating mat in the back right corner, then I put in large branches in the substrate

Absolutely beautiful set-up and the fresh molt photo will be a great entry for the calendar photo contest if we have it again next year!

What did you just feed them to make them swarm like that? Mine are usually so shy I only see them around 11pm and they never gather around the food dish like that...
