  1. Pretty much the title. I read about these guys in a South African news article that claimed their oothicas contain from 60-80 nymphs each. If theres any truth to that I'm hoping to find some to culture as a feeder.
  2. Thanks so much for the help! The mold didnt start on the seam of most of them, so I'll try to wipe those off. What do you think the chances are that the ooths with mold growing at the seam are infertile? I don't have any males in with my females currently because I fed too many to my herps and the last surviving male died from natural causes, but I've also heard females can hold sperm for quite some time before they run out. Is it worth leaving them in there just in case?
  3. Should I toss the ooths? Should I try to save them somehow? What could have caused it? Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. Thanks for the info! I'm glad I wont have to keep adding new blood into my colonies. If I felt like buying roaches all the time I wouldnt have bought a colony in the first place lol.
  5. I also ordered 280 red runners on ebay and had a ton of them dieoff too lol. Mine are stable now. I think they may have died from dehydration, but now that someone else who obviously bought from the same seller is experiencing dieoffs, maybe it wasnt dehydration after all. Are the ones that die lying on their backs when you find them? These are what mine looked like. --> https://imgur.com/a/ofjzWUy
  6. Alright I wont worry about inbreeding them. From most of the people that breed exotic roaches I've heard inbreeding isn't a problem either, but a few dubia breeders told me otherwise so I wanted to double check. Thank you so much for the help!
  7. I'm currently breeding 4 species of roach, and as the title suggests, would like to know whether adding unrelated bloodlines is necessary for a healthy colony. I've heard many different things from many different people and would like to hear from some veteran breeders on the issue. Thank you in advance for any help!
