  1. I got mine for free this past September. She has a amazing feeding response and is my favorite terrestrial species I have. Sorry about your loss, that is really unfortunate Great video though! You have to love Avics, I used to have so many species of them but I am down to my last couple the versicolor and a azuraklassi.
  2. Sorry about all those posts, stupid iPod :/
  3. When I had my huge lat colony I would see them molt occasionally. I always stopped to watch. I always find my petiveriana's white, but never during the process. I catch my tarantulas occasionally too, I have a ton of pictures of them molting

  6. The old container I had them in I felt was much to small for them. I've felt bad about it for awhile so I got so larger containers for them =] Before I added new substrate/oak leaves. The substrate I mixed in. The end result, you can even see some of the happy occupants on top =] More occupants These two hitched a ride on my hand when I was mixing every thing together x]
  7. Thanks Sorry for your loss, I hate losing T's. Thats a lot of grammies to be raising up :0
  8. I think when I measured them they were about 15mm but really impressive looking I think I have two males though, so I've been going back every week to find more xD I haven't had any luck though
  9. I ordered a new camera cord, and I took some pictures of a couple tarantulas I have so I figured I would share =] A. versicolor T. stirmi? (sp. burgundy) E.pulcherrimaklaasi (Don't see these to often)
  10. Took this picture a couple days ago. Last night I was sitting in my bed and I noticed a movement out of the corner of my eye. One of the males was violently shaking his abdomen. I tried recording it because it was so neat, but whenever I had my camera on him he didn't do it. At first I thought it was a female because earlier in the night I noticed it's abdomen was pulsating. I think he was just in the mood after watching futher x] A female molted out mature last week. I have nine others but they don't seem to be close to maturity yet =[ Maybe i'll buy a male from someone if none of mine mature.
  11. I think it was deadly creatures. It is pretty neat, I've only wandered around with the tarantula for a few minutes. You can catch crickets for health and everything.
  12. I still think they would make good feeders for smaller true spiders and possibly babies. I'm willing to at least try it out. I would prefer them to fruit flies. Let me know when you have some ready to sell/trade
  13. I've never heard of that one, but there is a game I have where you play as a wide variety of inverts. I think you start out as a tarantula and can play as beetles later on. My 5 year old sister plays it. It is for the wii. I am not a big game player, but it's fun to play them every now and then.
  14. Never mind x) they are pretty interesting looking. How small are nymphs if the adults are 10-13mm? Do they burrow? They seem like excellent feeders for smaller spiders, and baby tarantulas. I really want some now xD http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown-banded_cockroach
  15. I can zoom in on the second picture and I can make out colors and somewhat of a patern. I wish I did have them in culture. Where are they from?
  16. I keep mine humid, warm, and on a substrate. My adults died off but they left me with a couple dozen nymphs I only started off with a trio, so I'm excited to get these going in a larger colony.
  17. Thanks Orin I'm going back to the spot I found them today, hopefully I can find a couple more. Also what's up with me liking everything that is hard and near impossible to breed! I must be cursed x)
  18. Ive collected a couple, does anyone know what they eat? I read somewhere that they eat dead or dying insects. I'm not sure how true it is though. I took a decent picture of them that captured the copper head and pronotum. Also the metallic blue abdomen? Not sure what that area on beetles are called. I lost my camera cord, but as soon as I find it I will be posting some pictures of them. I'd love to get a culture of these going.
