http://bugguide.net/node/view/1364136 I read the document and it said something about not a single invertebrate being allowed for propagation in CA, if my comprehension is correct. @Peter Clausen (bugs in cyberspace) has not mentioned it in his shop yet. If I'm correct, you aren't allowed to noncommercially breed or have dead insects, even if they are just ordinary ladybeetles or butterflies, without a permit. Also, what are laws on taking live insects from one part of CA and moving them to another part of CA as pets? One sentence: Is it over yet?

Hi, Frank Indiviglio here. I’m a herpetologist, zoologist, and book author, recently retired from a career spent at several zoos, aquariums, and museums, including over 20 years with the Bronx Zoo As a herpetologist and animal keeper, I’ve long been interested in the emerging amphibian disease commonly known as Chytrid or BD (Batrachochytrium dendrobatitis); please see my other articles, linked below. Believed to be responsible for the recent extinctions of over 200 frog species, this fungus remains a serious threat. In 2013, a related fungus, B. salamandrivorans, or BS, was identified. Sinc

On the USDA website - I can't really find specifics (and don't want to assume they are treated the same as a cricket and are OK to ship). Are certain species considered agricultural pests, but others not ? Are there certain ones that are 100% legal to ship to every state (take out Hawaii) ? How about other states' laws specific to
