silvermacaroons
Hi so I decided to get into isopod keeping and bought myself some dairy cows. I lost a couple in the first month and now have 9 and so far no babies. I've done a lot of research and I'm confident I'm keeping them properly but I don't know if I should add more or should I wait another month or two? Allpet Roaches
With nine you will have no problem getting a huge colony if you keep them right. This is one of the most forgiving in terms of almost any food and various moisture levels working okay.
dogpack
According to what I've seen in terms of isopod starter colonies, 15 is the bare minimum, correct?

I've started some of mine with five or less, more is great though.
dogpack
That's nice to know. I guess even when you get five there is at least enough male and female, or do I need to research more, to get a colony going.
