My new roaches: M. rhinoceros

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I´m back again, I was too busy sorry. I bought them in a fair (Hamm, December 2007 edition) from Peter Grawobich: www.polyped.de

I fall in love with them Another male:

I have 3 pairs: 3 males and 3 females. I put each pair in a 16x12x12 (inches) plastic cage and I´m giving them orange, apple and dog food.

Best regards,

Javier

Hi!

Thanks Graham, they are very active  .

Wait, dont they need Eucalyptus leaves in their diet?

Keith, Eucalyptus leaves it isn´t necesary in their diet, you can also give them oak leaves, like me. There are many species of Eucalyptus and many of them are toxic and can kill our roaches :o .

Best regards,

Javier.

make sure when feeding eucalypt to your Macropanthesia you are not feeding the strongly scented types to them.

Mine get oak leaves and very little else, and seem to be doing fine.

It s not obligatory Eucalyptus

Yeah I heard they do well on just dry dogfood with grains and fruits/veggies like most other captive bred species of roachs...but this is just hearsay as I have yet to procure any myself... B)
