kaze
Hello, Would there be any way to identify this little guy from this image? Thank you, ~K
Zephyr
Looks like Byrsotria sp. "Cuba" (Also mis-named as Byrsotria fumigata) to me!
BugmanPrice
Is this a species you have in a culture or found out in "the wild" somewhere?
kaze
Thanks for the reply~! There are a few Byrsotria cultures I've gotten and I wasn't sure which one it came from. One was supposed to be B. fumigata. Are they always B. sp. "Cuba"? I'm not sure I trust the B. fumigata as they also had some B. dubia mixed in there. ~K Looks like Byrsotria sp. "Cuba" (Also mis-named as Byrsotria fumigata) to me!

There are cultures of real Byrsotria fumigata out there (which this guy doesn’t appear to be). Also, Blaptica dubia shouldn’t be able to hybridize with any Brysotria spp. but weirder things have happened. I really wish I could give this little fella a confirmed species name though…
Ralph
Can you put him up to a ruler? Or one of your confirmed Byrsotria spp?
kaze
thanks for all the help~! I'll try to snap some shots wihh size reference to put up after I get back from Texas. Maybe I'll eventually put the little guy with that B. "fumigata"/B. dubia culture. ~K Ah, I see. There are cultures of real Byrsotria fumigata out there (which this guy doesn’t appear to be). Zephyr
I'm still thinking Byrsotria sp. "Cuba."
kaze
Thanks, I will put the little guy with the my culture of confirmed B. sp. "Cuba" then... Would you say the pictures above from my "B. fumigata" culture look like actual fumigata or are they also sp. "Cuba"? ~K I'm still thinking Byrsotria sp. "Cuba." Zephyr
I would ask Orin this one. He's the one who told me that most of the stock labeled "Byrsotria fumigata" in the US are in fact an unidentified species. (From the Allpet roach book, adult male B. fumigata have different wings than our B. sp. "Cuba.")
