recluse
I was getting ready for work this morning and walked out into my laundry/bug room. My B. lat colony in on the top shelf and I noticed a freshly molted B. lat getting torn limb from limb by three other adults. It was pretty ferocious. I have witnessed canabalism in my N. cinerea colony but those are the only two of about 20. I quickly misted them and fed them. It was pretty cool. vfox
This happens with mine if they get too dry, they seem to like moisture more than most people tend to think. My colony was stagnant until I closed off 85% of the screened lid, more moisture gave me a population explosion and stopped most of the cannibalism. I still see it if I damage one during cleaning or feeding though.
makoygaara
The horror of cannibalism! Yes they are cannibals especially with lack of food and water.
