Phasmids anyone?

Hello does anyone know of any vendors who sells any sort of phasmid in the U.S.? ive looked but dont seem to be finding much. Im looking for leaf insects in particular or walking sticks

Thanks for the link. i checked it out though and it seems to be in canada so im contacting them to see if they could possibly send to califonria. shall see.

Phasmids are heavily controlled in the United States and you need a permit to keep them legally. You won't find them on any websites in the United States because of these regulations, and you would need even more permits to import them, even from Canada. So you know, importing any live insects requires permits which may be difficult to get as a private keeper who is not using them for research or other purposes. However if you attend Herp shows you can occasionally find phasmids for sale there even though it is technically not legal. Well i must say thats a bummer but i guess i can understand why ,some breed like crazy. but oh well I guess I can try an find some around here if im lucky. But i have seen them at shows like the la bug fair i will most likely check out there.

I believe there are still a few species that can be legally owned in the US, but perhaps not in every state. Indian Walking Sticks and Northern Walking Sticks seem to still be legal without a permit, but that might have changed in the past year or so.
