Android raptor
Do B. giganteus make a somewhat quiet hissing sound when feeling threatened? Because I could swear I hear mine making a hissy noise when irritated. I've never heard anything about that species making any noise, though. Inkie14
Yeah mine have made that noise too. That noise always seems to be accompanied by a release of nasty smells. I've also heard the males making a deep gurgling noise when wooing females!

RomanBuck
B. Craniifer does it more for me but that's because my. giganteus are still nymphs.
Doc
I've had my B. craniifer do this too. It seems like it's their legs rubbing against their wings. I only notice it happen when they move suddenly.
Keith
I've seen them do it, their abdomens make the noise, mabye same way as hisser's do? The smell comes from their abdomen aswell.

Loosey
I always took it to be that it was noise from them rustling their wings... do they have the same hissing dynamic as actual hissers? Wouldnt that have been common knowlege in the hobby by now if so? The cranifer I kept to feed tarantulas used to make a kind of buzzing hiss if irritated, however I never really experienced any smells associated. ??
