Chris Driggers
That has to be one of the prettiest roaches I have ever seen. Anyone know where one could obtain a culture of them?
Matt K
That has to be one of the prettiest roaches I have ever seen. Anyone know where one could obtain a culture of them? I have not heard of them being in culture at all. (From what I can tell) they are currently only found in Costa Rica in some of the preservation areas. This would require some pretty extensive permitting to export/import.
Allpet Roaches
Check out the cover of the Allpet Roaches book for a photograph of a related sp. There are a number of similar looking Paratropes species found in Central and South America. I've spoken to people who've seen them in Peru and Costa Rica and they are reportedly rather common. It's surprising none have made it into the hobby, I've never heard of anyone, anywhere even making an attempt to keep them.
