Sorry for the crappy quality, was the best I could do. I found that little guy hiding on the lip of the vivarium so I placed him inside. The white stuff is calcium, no matter how well I think I filter the water it always seems to show up. I use distilled water now.

So one of my G. Portentosa females finally had a litter. Have only seen 4 or 5 so far and only early in the morning, near the water dish. This is exciting.

I have a sansevieria trifasciata in mine and my colony pretty much ignores it. I have one male who does like to hide in it, but other than that they do not eat it at all.

Hello, I'm Mike. Originally from Florida but I now reside in Wyoming. I recently got into the hobby, a friend of mine actually gave me some G. portentosa to help me get over an acute phobia of cockroaches. Well it worked, I am no longer afraid of them and now find myself absolutely fascinated by the great diversity of the blattodea order. I hope to learn a lot more about roaches and I'm hoping to pick up another species before long. Due to an accident when I was a kid, I'm a man of few (and/or incorrect) words, so I seem a bit strange most of the time. I apologize ahead of time. haha
