Hatching Archiblatta oothecas

Ootheca
Hello together :)!

I had luck with my five nymphs i purchased almost a year ago, the survivors turned out 2,2 of which1,2 are still alive and thriving. They gave me six oothecas so far, and i would like to ask for advice to incubate them. I separated them, have them at a cozy 29 to 30 degrees Celsius and moist.

I hope this is fine so far, but i would like to read, how you more experienced keepers did it with them :)!

Thank you,
Andreas

It seems this is a highland species that wants temps no higher than 23-25C° for incubating their oothecae. So I think you have them too warm.

They are also sensitive to excessive moisture as oothecae, and prefer very high air humidity, but low surface moisture.

Upon first look at this species I'd have never thought they were roaches. I'm finding more and more about roaches that don't look like traditional roaches. Really cool species. I'd love to have these in my collection some day.

You and me both. Been wanting these for years, but every attempt I've made to get them has ended in failure. 😭 At this point forget breeding them, I just wanna see a live adult before I die. 🥲
