Ivory-Head Behavior

Recommended Posts

I have a relatively newly started colony of 40 Eublaberus distanti and I'm seeing adults after about five months now. I've been rather curious about some behavior I've witnessed, where what I believe is a male has been chasing some of the other adults I've seen about their five inches of substrate. I assumed it's been some minor wing-nipping, but recently I saw what I believe was the same male near pounce on a shed exuvia, gripping it in its legs before slowly releasing and letting it go once it discovered it wasn't alive.

I provide veggies and occasionally fruit every day, occasionally fish flakes. Is this a food thing, wing nipping thing? I'm just curious, I haven't seen this before.
