blatta70
Hello, this is Mark. I am interested to know if members of the Nocticolidae which are mainly troglodytic produce hardened ootheca like most roaches or are they encased in a frothy secretion like mantis oothecas? I have read some interesting articles regarding the symbiotic bacteria Blattabacterium in which all roach families except Nocticolidae possess. Some researchers have suggested that the Nocticolidae may be more closely related to mantises than to roaches. Unfortunately, I can't find much info about these unusual roaches. Can anyone help? Thanks, Mark
