Allpetroaches
Posted by Kevin on 7/19/2003, 8:18 pm 67.31.62.242 I have what appears to me mites in my colony of Panchlora nivea. Anyone know what they are, how I got them, and how to get rid of them? Thanks wisdom-tree@prodigy.net
Allpetroaches
Posted by Henning on 7/20/2003, 8:11 am, in reply to "mites??" 193.158.141.119 Might be mites, might not- if they are white, elongated and quick moving (juming) they might be springtails; otherwise they might well be mites. It?s not a question of getting them or not- they all always present in all terrariums with the least kind of humidity. It?s a question of giving them the chance to thrive or not. Mites like things like wet food, "sterilized" substrate and need humidity. As keeping Panchlora nivea dry would become a problem, you should ensure that no grain or meat products do lay in the terrarium for more than some hours The best to get rid of the mites you have now would be a complete new setup of your breeding.
