Allpetroaches
Posted by James on 1/19/2004, 10:03 am 207.104.129.169 I have several hundreds of these roaches, and they range from light brown to jet black. Are the colors genetic? I am thinking of making two seperate colonies, but not really sure if it will work or not? Thanks, James james.tuttle@afc.com

The normal black death's head roaches breed true 100% of the time. However, you have a cross between two geographical races/varieties of B.craniifer or much less likely a hybrid between B.craniifer and B.fusca. If possible, you might consider feeding them off and starting with pure stock. megaloblatta@angelfire.com

Yours are an accidental cross, probably of varieties. It's ok to keep them but please make sure to let anyone you sell/trade them to that they aren't a pure stock so they won't be bred with good culture stock. Happy Roach Keeping! If you feed them all to something I'll send you a dozen nymphs of the real ones.
