Zephyr
It rained a lot today and I found these odd masses of what appear to be various fly larvae crawling around my sidewalk. Anyone got ID's on them?

Ralph
According to Whatsthatbug.com these are a type of Sciarid fly larva. The mass movements seem to be a rather regular thing.

Scythemantis
Those are beautiful and amazing! I'd love to see something like this, anyone know anything more about them? What do they eat? I know many fungus gnat larvae are carnivorous.
Bricktop
Fascinating. It reminds me of the way driver ants make living bridges across things, or those chains of migrating lobsters marching across the ocean floor. Its a shame maggots are so repulsive to look at.
