wojcik49
Are springtails and isopods good colony cleaners for dubia roaches? What other insects would be good for a dubia colony insect cleaner?
Ozymandias
never used them in my dubia coloney because its a little too dry for them in there but i do use them in some of my more humid set up, i think though that zephyr uses mini meal worms (don't know the scientific name sorry) to help with clean up in his roach coloneys though so you might ask him
wojcik49
Ehhh I hate mealworms and the mini mealworms caused impaction in one of my beardies...so I hate them, haven't used them since and won't ever again

Ralph
Isopods tend to compete with the roaches. I use springtails in the more naturalistic tanks, but I've never tried dermestids with roaches. I think for the most part "janitors" are unnecessary, the springtails don't seem to help much with leftover food or frass and mostly just end up as easily harvestable food for other inverts. MrCrackerpants
I use dermestids with my dubia. I also use springtails and terrestrial isopods on the end where I pour the water. One end is moist and one is dry.
