DonaldJ
This is a proof of concept for a device to safely pick up small roaches. Using small zip-ties, short strips of silicone were attached to a pair of self-closing tweezers. The silicone strips may need to be replaced by rubber; the surface is very slick and provides poor grip. No roaches were harmed during this test. Tenevanica
That's a neat little device you've got there. Perhaps you could tweak it so that the rubber comes to an edge. This would make it even easier to pick up tiny roaches.
lovebugfarm
I like that. It would help with sexing very squirmy roaches that dont like being fliped over.
Hisserdude
Ha, pretty cool invention right there! Nice safe way to handle some of the more skittish roaches!
DonaldJ
I replaced the blue silicone with strips from a bicycle inner tube. Should work a little better, not as slippery as the silicone. Forceps might be the best solution because you can lock them in position, applying the least amount of pressure to get the job done. Hold them in position for the class pictures?
