ahn u seung
Hi, I am attempting to purchase the cockroaches which are used for feeding centipedes. Could someone recommand me what types of cockroaches I could buy? It would be great if you can recommand me the type of cockroaches which cannot even get on the glass or plastic wall of the case (for both male and female), and I am hoping to find the ones which don't have wings. Could someone please help me to find this type of cockroaches? Thanks. ps. Does Madagascar roach also climb the wall as well?
RosenKrieger
Blaptica Dubia is a fairly common roach used as food for Tarantulas and Centipedes. They can't climb smooth surfaces, the females do not have wings. The males do have wings but can not fly. Hope this helps
Ralph
Rosenkrieger, I thought dubia males were pretty good fliers. Are you sure? Back on subject, I don't think Eurycotis floridana or decipiens can climb glass. Most Blaberus species can't climb, but the males can sometimes fly. You can look at www.blaberus.com for information on lots of roaches. Why is this under "photo gallery"???
PeriplanetaAmericana
Hello, Use roaches from Genus Blaberus, Genus Eublaberus, Blatta lateralis and Blaptica dubia. Best regards, Javier.

I've never seen any of mine even try to fly. even when i left the lid off the bin for a couple hours at one point.
