RomanBuck
Do you own any P. americana? They almost look to small to be contained with screen. Do you have a petroleum jelly barrier at all?

Cariblatta lutea
Do you own any P. americana? They almost look to small to be contained with screen. Do you have a petroleum jelly barrier at all? Ya. So I keep them in an air tight container with a plastic wrap on top. I don't use petroleum jelly on these guys since the small nymphs often end up getting stuck in the jelly and die
Cariblatta lutea
and I do own a small colony of P. americana
RomanBuck
How well do they produce?
Cariblatta lutea
How well do they produce? Females lay lots of oothecae, but the oothecae take long time to hatch so it takes some time to get a large colony. Also, I've had nymphs pray on each other so my colony never grows large. RomanBuck
Do you think the nymphs are eat in each other because of lack of protein? I ask all of these questions because I might be getting some to start a feeder colony for my bearded dragon. He needs some variety :-)

RomanBuck
Hopefully they won't be a waste! If I can't get them to breed in 8 months after getting them, they all are going to be eaten by my beardie

Cariblatta lutea
I'm seeing more and more females with eggs visible inside their abdomens so I'm hoping to get tons of oothecae from this group If you look closely at the individual on top, you can see the green eggs visible inside the abdomen
