aoikirin
I use glass tanks to hold my roaches and display them but there are hard water stains from misting their enclosure that make watching them less enjoyable. I heard using lemon juice works but I have to say it's not very effective. I don't want to use soap because I don't want to hurt them. Basically I'm looking for a roach-safe windex / window glass cleaner that I'm sure doesn't exist.
Matttoadman
Vinegar helps. I used to live in hard water area. From time to time you would have to break down your fish tanks, soak each side in vinegar and scrape with a razor blade. However the longer time bewtween cleanings the harder the build up is to remove.
Axolotl
I have hard water, too. To avoid the stains I use distilled water in my misting jugs and tap water for pour overs. Vinegar will help, but keep in mind that acetic acid can weaken invertebrate exoskeletons, so take care when applying and rinse well.
