satchellwk
So, I was perusing the web for cockroach pics, and I found this guy's photo album, and, all I can say is "WOW!" http://www.flickriver.com/photos/artour_a/tags/cockroach/ Kudos to this "artour_a" for taking these amazing pictures. Now we just need to get these into the hobby, especially that second "orange desert roach" (too bad it's Australian, we'll never get it). Ozymandias
hell i would settle for more of the roach from central and south America and i imagine they must be easier to import than from Australia
satchellwk
hell i would settle for more of the roach from central and south America and i imagine they must be easier to import than from Australia Well, of course I would be happy to see any new roaches enter the hobby; it's just that the orange one is absolutely stunning, as well as many other Australian species ( Polyzosteria mitchelli, for example). It would be great to get some more in from down south, though. We just gotta find the right people with the right connections, that's all . Ozymandias
na we just have to figure out how to get export/import papers and such then all go down there and go roach hunting
satchellwk
Now THAT would be one heck of a trip! On a related note, I found some other amazing looking species, that we need to add to the "to import" list (I tried to restrict it to ones with reliable ID's): (adult form of the previous one) <--- (reminds me of some sort of female B. dubia with a disproportional pronotum) http://www.flickr.com/photos/jean_hort/6491403825/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/jean_hort/7261441828/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/andregm/3281344677/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/burtonandy/4717067368/ (note that none of these pics are mine, and they belong to their respective uploaders) If anyone else knows of any other awesome species that need to be in culture, feel free to post them. Keith
Would love to know more about the semi-aquatic roach!
izzy_here
Ellipsidion humerale & Methana marginalis are absolutely stunning. The name Methana scares me though...exactly why was that name given? Conjures up visions of a truly horrible defensive smell..
izzy_here
Not sure I'd want them if they smell like poo

So are the three green ones, the two dark red.....
