jbrd
We finally got the therea petiveriana that we wanted; but we haven't been able to find out very much about their care on the internet. Does anyone have ANY experience to share? Not too sure about how to proceed with these guys...:?
Allpet Roaches
Like any polyphagid they should have some rotten leaves in their diet and should be kept on a few inches of damp substrate. They will eat dog food, but not very much. They are pretty hardy. They take a long time to mature and it's possible for the males to emerge and die before females mature it they're all the same size presently. Matt K
I have offered various foods to mine and they won't touch anything except for the occasional half of a Cheerio. They seem to have grown well on wet leaves and small chunks of rotten wood (mixed with a little Eco-earth) about 7cm deep.
jbrd
How long is a long time to mature? And is it possible to buy sexed males in the trade at a later date?

It can take more than a year and a half to reach maturity after hatching. Of course any you get would likely be at least a few months old already. You may not need to get males later, especially if they're not all exactly the same age. It's just something to keep an eye out for.
