KitKatie329
Sorry to leave you guys hanging, I promise pics in the next day or two! Edit 4-30-2012: I'm sorry you guys, I came down with a bad migraine and my sister has my camera, working on both situations.
KitKatie329
UPDATE! Here he is next to a mature female, a 50c piece, and a AA battery! And here's a pill bug swarm as an apology for the delay on the pictures! This guy is awesome
MrCrackerpants
Great pictures. Thanks. Sorry if I missed this in the thread. Is this Gromphadorhina oblongonota? How big is he in inches? I am curious because if it is Gromphadorhina oblongonota, I have this species. Did you get your stock from Kyle? Thanks!
KitKatie329
Nope, G. portentosa. And no, I got the original stock 4 generations ago from a woman named Mariella. They were notably smaller than the ones I am breeding now. He is 3in long and 2 across.
MantisMan
Hes bigger than the female lol
KitKatie329
I know right?!?! And that is a gravid female at that! I was hoping there would be a female equivalent of him and she'd be even bigger than him! I think just for sh*** and giggles I'll take a pic of him next to some of my normal sized males today. Keith
You should check Guiness Book Of World records see if he might be a contender for largest of his species!
MrCrackerpants
Thanks. When you say he is 2 inches across, is this the length across the mid point of his abdomen?
Ralph
I'd feel bad for the other males if you decided to keep him in with them, they wouldn't stand a chance! It's interesting how his abdominal tip appears to be almost normal-sized. Which is good because he shouldn't have trouble mating.
KitKatie329
The 2in measurement is at the fattest part
MrCrackerpants
Wow! That is a massive roach. I am going to check and see if I have one THAT big. Thanks for sharing.

Allpet Roaches
Nope, G. portentosa. And no, I got the original stock 4 generations ago from a woman named Mariella. They were notably smaller than the ones I am breeding now. He is 3in long and 2 across. That male looks like it could be one of my giant stock. The sad part is though monsters show up normally it's usually only one out of fifty and no matter how many generations you keep pulling the midjets it doesn't seem to improve the odds.
