Awesome, if you want to trade or do a partial trade as well let me know. I know roach crossing has some avalable for a high price. But I can't even get him to respond to several messages that I sent a month ago, I know he is moving but his costumer service is absolutely horrible ( at least responding to messages) not to be rude but I think his site is a absolute joke some of his species are way over priced and me as well as others can hardly get him to respond. I even had someone ask me if he was still in business. Im actually planning on launching a website next summer or fall so I'm investing in tons of stock as of now

I'd still be interested in some and finish refining them myself. I'd be willing to buy or trade anything in my for sale add. These really need to be spread through out the hobby. @JohnFrost

Female madagascar hisser laying eggs?
Redmont replied to Twilightroach's topic in Breeding and Nymph Issues
The temp drop and the extra male combined could have led to her aborting the ooth. I'd suggest removing 3 of the males to a separate cage. and only add a male to the cage if a male dies. -
Awesome, if you have any sand roach species Avalable and if you have any white banana roaches ( I forget there name) I'd be interested in trading anything in my for sale add or buying them

Female madagascar hisser laying eggs?
Redmont replied to Twilightroach's topic in Breeding and Nymph Issues
I've bred javen hissers so far with out fruit, and I know Orin says that B. giganteus needs fruit, rotting wood and leaves to breed, but I breed them fairly successfully with only leaves and carrots ( I bet they don't even need leaves in order to breed) I'm kind of wondering why Orin stated that, I bet it makes them breed faster but they don't need any of it to breed. It's strange that so many keepers find it difficult to breed them. All they need is a spacious enclosure and hi humidity and mine enjoy basking under a heat lamp -
Female madagascar hisser laying eggs?

Ya, what are the temps of your cage and are they steady temps? Temps could be hi which allows her to mate but if the temps drop she may abort it. Out of the 7 roaches what is the male to female ratio there should only be one or males for the females, if there's more males then take them out -
Sometimes you will get better luck if you go to a forest or grassland, sometimes out of state. I also find that when your looking for something you can't find it, and when your not looking for it it shows up lol

Should Barriers (vaseline) Be Thick or Thin?
Redmont replied to MooreInverts's topic in Enclosures and Barriers
I use gasket containers like that for my hissers, but I get mine from target and so do a lot of keepers I beleave. -
I may be launching a website next summer or fall, I'm hoping to take pointers from bugs in syberspace, roach crossing, and cape cod roaches. And create a superior website, I also have a few suppliers lined up, I'm hoping to offer a large selection of insects, and my goal Is to keep at least 20 tarantula speces in stock, which will be a little bit of a challenge. And I should be able to offer some stuff no one else has acces to,

Only adults can climb if that speces, for small colonies in use 190oz deli cups I get them on line at tsk supply but you have to buy like at least 10 of them

Should Barriers (vaseline) Be Thick or Thin?
Redmont replied to MooreInverts's topic in Enclosures and Barriers
I don't use Vaseline in any of my hissers cages or other climbing species, I keep them in escape proof cages and allow them to climb on the lid, it can get a little anoying with larger collonies, but imho vasaline is more anoying -
To make a late flight cage. Larger than they normally are for butterflies. I would probably use window screen and 2by2s to build a large cage and make a plywood bottom for the soil, I would like to build a cage like that to attempt to breed horse flies, but for some reason I can't get anyone to collect them for me

In all onisty I don't think it will affect CA residents to much, there's plenty of people in the US that have exotic beetles and stick insects. And FL residents that have exotic roaches. I'm sure lots of members will still ship to california maybe not big websites because USDA would be watching them.

I'd also be interested in buying or trading live or dead Cotinis mutabilis as well
-
I've only seen one around hear, They arnt very comon I'm more so acquiring different beetle species as dead stock it doesn't matter to much on the species
-
Very nice collection I'll actually be getting some pink leg millipedes next year and maybe some AGB's this year, they may not be the best starter species but they shouldn't be to hard as well
-
I'm my opinion just ship them through usps even if spiders arnt allowed. They won't know what's in there. I may be interested in doing a trade for some of your roaches and tarantulas depending on the species, I am willing to trade anything in my for sale add, you can pm me if you like or we can talk hear

I'm not entirely sure of the process I think they need a deep moist substrate in order to pupate, I now there is a thread on arachnoboards that you can look up that should detail the process
-
Awesome, welcome to the forum! What type of roaches and beetles do you currentlly have? I'm mostly in the roach and beetle hobby as of now but I'm venturing in to keeping monitor lizzards and soon maybe some millipedes!

I've never heard of anyone giving it to hissers before, but it's always good to experiment, now time will tell in a few days if there's any side effects

I use sterlite clear view tubs from menards I use the 15 and 27 quart tubs they work nice, I take a hot nail with a vice grip attached clamped to it and put 2 rows of ventalation on each side then I spray paint the purple handles flat black. I also use gasket containers from target they have a seal and 4 clamps on them I primarily use those for hissers, and I cut a section of screen and use hot glue to secure it. I do have some of those round vents in the pic. I'm planning on using in some cages you can get the vents at roundvents.com

It's working now for me maybe it froze on you. Or a mod was updating it

I think I'd be interested in them. Do you have exact size? I could buy them from you or we could do a trade, I'd be willing to trade anything in my for sale add except granti
